Julie Chen Goes Makeup-Free

The women of "The Talk" bared it all for the season premiere today.

Hosts Julie Chen, Sharon Osbourne, Sara Gilbert, Sheryl Underwood and Aisha Tyler went makeup-free Monday, clad only in towels and robes.

The idea was to be in keeping with the show's philosophy.

"We kind of tell it like it is," Chen told People, a few days before the premiere. "We decided the ultimate way to be real and authentic would be to go on without our fake hair, fake eyelashes, five pounds of TV makeup."

Chen had her fears though. "I had a lot of trepidation when we decided to do this," she told the magazine. "We know there are people who are going to say, 'Oh, my God, no wonder they wear so much makeup.'"

"Luckily, what makes our show work is that the women who sit at that table are comfortable enough in their own skin that we'll all take that risk," she added.

They also invited a guest on the CBS show who has no fear stripping away the artifice: Jamie Lee Curtis joined the hosts au naturel.

"What you guys did here today was breathtaking," Curtis said. "A moment in television history."
