Joey Fatone Eliminated in Week 2 of 'Dancing With the Stars: All-Stars'

Singer Joey Fatone was voted off ABC's "Dancing With the Stars: All-Stars" on Tuesday. The ballroom audience registered its disapproval with boos when the show's co-host, Tom Bergeron, made the announcement.

“We had a great time. People said I was fun and that’s all that matters,” Fatone said, smiling.

Addressing the three-judge panel, he added: “God bless you guys for your votes, I appreciate it, I respect it, but as long as I had fun, I don’t care what your votes say.”

His pro partner, Kym Johnson, smiled but was disappointed.

"I'm upset, I'm sad, I'm not going to lie," she said.

Fatone and racecar driver Helio Castroneves were both in jeopardy of being eliminated based on their performances Monday night. Judges said Fatone's jive was entertaining but marred by technical flaws. They awarded him 22.5 points, landing him in a three-way tie for seventh place.

The dancer with the lo

west total after judges' scores and viewer votes are combined is voted off each week, until the finalists vie for the championship.

When asked on “Good Morning America” Wednesday who Fatone thought was going to win the competition this year, he said, “I think it’s going to be a tough call, believe it or not, because everyone’s so good.”

Johnson agreed: “It could be anyone.”

Fatone quickly added, “It should have been us.”

Castroneves finished on Monday with 23 points from judges, putting him in the middle of the leaderboard. With 18 points from the judges, reality TV personality Bristol Palin was the low scorer, but she apparently had enough viewer votes to keep her out of the bottom two on Tuesday night.

Fatone, a former 'N Sync member , placed second when he competed on "Dancing" in 2007. He lost the mirror ball trophy to Olympic speed skater Apolo Ohno, who is also part of the current all-star cast.

This is the dance competition program's 15th season, and the first featuring an all-star cast.

Tuesday's results show featured performances by British pop singer Cher Lloyd and Welsh classical singer Katherine Jenkins. Jenkins, who finished in second place on season 14 of "Dancing With the Stars," sang a duet with the world-famous tenor Placido Domingo.

Former "Dancing With the Stars" pro dancer Lacey Schwimmer and her brother, Benji Schwimmer, also performed with the "Dancing With the Stars" Troupe.

Next week, the competition gets even more difficult. The stars will have creation control of their routines, and two of them will be voted off on Tuesday.

In addition to Castroneves and Palin, actresses Kirstie Alley and Kelly Monaco, Olympians Shawn Johnson and Apolo Ohno, actor Gilles Marini, singer/actress Sabrina Bryan and TV personality Melissa Rycroft all will return to compete on Monday.
