'Dancing With the Stars: All-Stars' Week 2 Recap: Sabrina Bryan Cops Top Spot

The all-star cast of ABC's "Dancing With the Stars: All-Stars" danced quicksteps and jives tonight, and a few of the performances were definite crowd-pleasers.

With 26 out of a possible 30 points, singer/actress Sabrina Bryan earned the highest scores of the season and took first place on the leaderboard. The night's low-scorer was Bristol Palin, with 18 points.

The dancer with the lowest scores after judges' and viewer votes are combined will be voted off on Tuesday night. One star will be eliminated each week until the finals.

The Routines

Melissa Rycroft: The TV personality's spirited jive pleased judges. "That was one of the fastest jives I've ever seen. The routine was excellent," judge Bruno Tonioli said, while pointing out minor flaws. Head judge Len Goodman disagreed with Tonioli's opinion on the flaws, shaking his head and interrupting Tonioli several time with an cranky "No, shut up!" Rycroft earned 23.5 points.

Bristol Palin: Palin danced the quickstep to the song "Redneck Woman" by Gretchen Wilson, saying in the intro video that the song described her because "I'm a redneck." While judges praised her enthusiasm, they faulted her on technique. "I liked the hoedown but the technique was a bit low-down," Goodman said. Judge Carrie Ann Inaba said Palin would have to be penalized for breaking the requirement about being in hold in the middle of the routine, while Tonioli told Palin that the technique was like watching the quickstep go "Gangnam style," referring to the hugely popular Korean rap song featuring its own catchy dance. Palin earned 18 points.

Helio Castroneves: Judges said the racecar driver's jive was fun and entertaining. "You've got style with a smile," Goodman said, adding that even though there were a few flaws, Castroneves' kicks and flicks were sharp. "Overall I thought it was fabulous. Well done." Tonioli and Inaba were also pleased with the performance. The judges awarded Castroneves 23 points.

Apolo Ohno: The Olympic speedskater's stylish quickstep had Tonioli on his feet and applauding before the routine was even over, and Goodman and Inaba had similar rave reviews. "Gold medal," Goodman said, pointing to Ohno and telling him he combined speed with control. Ohno got 24.5 points.

Sabrina Bryan: Tonioli called the Disney star's quickstep "a dazzler, a true dazzler," praising her technique and lines. Goodman though the routine was great, pointing out that Bryan's upper body was calm and controlled during the routine, which Inaba said had grace and drama. Judges awarded Bryan 26 points.

Kirstie Alley: The TV star's flirty jive had judges beaming. "It was neat, it was precise, there was a lot of recognizable jive in there and I thought it was a great improvement from last week," Goodman told Alley. Inaba and Tonioli also had praise for the routine. Alley earned 21 points.

Emmitt Smith: The NFL legend performed a cool quickstep that had judges faulting his frame even as they praised the overall routine. Inaba told Smith that he hadn't shown improvement over his performance last week - in which he topped the leaderboard. Tonioli found minor issues with Smith's frame and timing, but said of the performance: "Red-hot chemistry with Cheryl," he said, referring to Cheryl Burke, Smith's pro dance partner. "Meow! It really works." Smith earned 22.5 points.

Drew Lachey: The 98 Degrees singer found himself in the bottom two scorers last week, and was shaken by it. This week, judges praised the edgy quality of the routine but criticized him for dancing flat-flooted. "You've got to get on the balls of your feet in the jive … but bottom-two Drew? Not this week," Goodman said. Judges awarded Lachey 22.5 points.

Joey Fatone: Channeling actor Charlie Chaplin, the 'N Sync singer's classy, crowd-pleasing jive gave a nod to old Hollywood. Judges praised the entertainment value but found fault with Fatone's technique. Goodman said he made a list of flaws during the routine, but despite those, he ended up saying: "I really enjoyed it." Fatone earned 22.5 points.

Shawn Johnson: The Olympic gymnast's high-energy jive provided "just enough" technique and performance value for Goodman, who told Johnson he wanted to see more from her. Inaba and Tonioli disagreed with him, praising Johnson's routine. "That was vibrant, exhilarating, eye-popping …," Tonioli said, commenting that Johnson and her partner, Derek Hough, were perfectly in sync throughout the routine. Johnson earned 25 points.

Kelly Monaco: Judges commended the soap opera star for her elegant quickstep but told her she needed to work on her lines when she was in hold and when she danced on her own. "Pretty in pink and extremely elegant …," Tonioli said of Monaco's routine. Judges awarded her 22 points.

Gilles Marini: Even though the heartthrob actor was injured when he danced his high-powered jive, his performance didn't suffer at all. The three judges had high praise for the actor's technique and attitude, awarding him 25.5 points.
