The competitors on ABC's "Dancing With the Stars: All-Stars" danced to country music songs during tonight's show, and two stars earned perfect scores.
Following last week's special two-night performance, Sabrina Bryan topped the leaderboard and Kelly Monaco had the lowest score. With last week's scores added to those from tonight's individual performances and a group freestyle dance, the rankings remained unchanged.
Bryan and Olympian Apolo Ohno both earned perfect scores tonight.
One star will be eliminated tomorrow. Elimination is based upon a combination of viewers' votes and judge's scores. The star with the lowest combined score is voted off the show.
The Individual Routines
Gilles Marini: The French actor performed a cha-cha, drawing praise from head judge Len Goodman praised, who told the actor he appreciated his commitment to his routines. "What I really like about you, you come out and you give it 100 percent …," he said. Even though Goodman and judge Bruno Tonioli saw minor problems with the actor's footwork, and judge Carrie Ann Inaba faulted the way Marini held his hands, all three were pleased with the performance, awarding the actor 27.5 points.
Sabrina Bryan: The singer/actress delivered a poignant rumba that had judges raving. "The figures you did were absolutely stunning …," Tonioli said. Inaba hugged Bryan, who had teared up after the routine, and told her she showed vulnerability. "This is the true beauty of dance. You were dancing from the heart and it was breath-taking," she said. Goodman told her the dance showed softness and strength. They awarded Bryan 30 points - a perfect score.
Kelly Monaco: Judges told the soap opera star's that her tango was a comeback after her performance last week which landed her on the bottom spot on the leaderboard. "It was a bit hectic on occasion but you kept it under control …," Goodman told Monaco, while Inaba told her she was "the most exciting" competitor on the show. They awarded her 27 points.
Melissa Rycroft: The TV personality's ethereal Viennese Waltz brought a rare form of approval from Goodman: he got up out of his chair and applauded. "Great technique … fabulous," he said. Tonioli was taken by the routine, telling Rycroft: "You started with a solo that was absolutely exquisite … weightless, fluid, lyrical. Amazing extension, continuity of movement," he said. Inaba thought Rycroft didn't dance out enough. Her comment drew vocal opposition from Tonioli. Judges gave Rycroft 29.5 points.
Shawn Johnson: The Olympic gymnast's sassy, country-flavored cha-cha drew mixed reviews and strong opinions from judges. Tonioli said he really liked "the fusion of country step and cha-cha-cha …," but Goodman was bothered by the fake cow and tractor that were on the dance floor as props. "Too much frippery, too many gimmicks," he said. "I don't want tractors. I don't want cows." Inaba liked the routine, but said Johnson's solo appeared "a little stiff." Johnson got 28 points.
Kirstie Alley: Her rumba also drew mixed reviews. Calling the actress "the queen of sexy," Inaba told her "every movement was gorgeous." Goodman was less enthusiastic. Even though he said it was clear, clean and expressive, he said he would have liked to have seen more hip action. Tonioli said the routine expressed "the gorgeousness of a real woman." Alley earned 27.5 points.
Apolo Ohno: The Olympic speed skater's Viennese Waltz elicited high praise from the judges. Goodman said it was light and musical. "It was two people in perfect harmony with each other and with the music. I loved it," he said. Tonioli and Inaba were similarly impressed. The judges gave Ohno 30 points - the second perfect score of the night.
Emmitt Smith: The NFL legend's foxtrot didn't bowl the judges over. They saw flaws with Smith's timing, but said the routine was entertaining - and all three loved his solo. He earned 26.5 points.
The Group Freestyle
After the individual routines, the competitors performed a group freestyle set to music performed live from Big & Rich and Cowboy Troy. Kirstie Alley earned 2 bonus points for having the judges' most entertaining routine.
