Blake Lively is admitting she is mortified.

Lively’s apology comes after Kate Middleton announced on March 22 that she is battling cancer after undergoing major abdominal surgery. This news was shared with the world after the Associated Press issued a “kill notification” for one of the Princess’s Instagram posts, saying the photo she shared on Mother’s Day was edited and altered.

The notification along with the many conspiracy theories resulting from the lack of transparency led to a lot of speculation about what was going on with the Princess of Wales.

“I’m sure no one cares today but I feel like I have to acknowledge this. I made a silly post around the ‘photoshop fails’ frenzy, and oh man, that post has me mortified today. I’m sorry,” Lively wrote after deleting the post. “Sending love and well wishes to all, always.”

As previously reported, while promoting the newest Betty Buzz and Betty Booze products, Lively also seemed to pick a bit of fun at Middleton and the controversy surrounding the Photoshopped picture she shared on Mother’s Day.

Middleton has been embroiled in controversy a photo of Middleton and her three children was shared on UK’s Mother’s Day.

The photo displayed clear signs of Photoshopping, something Middleton later admitted to doing. In a statement, Middleton called herself an “amateur photographer” who sometimes dabbles in Photoshop and editing.

As a result, conspiracy theories about Kate’s well-being ran wild.

Lively’s clearly photoshopped picture featured her face launching by a pool with a Betty Buzz beverage. “I’m so excited to share this new photo I just took today to announce our 4 new @bettybuzz & @bettybooze products,” Lively wrote. “Now you know why I’ve been MIA,” she continued seemingly alluding to Middleton’s absence from the public eye since her abdominal surgery in January.

People were quick to pick up on the subtle nuances.

“There’s so many ppl who don’t seem to be getting the Kate Middleton joke,” one commenter wrote. “Kate works hard, but Blake works harder.”

And although some commenters thought it was a “low blow,” others thought Blake was simply trying to make light of a silly situation.

“I think this is a brilliant show of support for any mother trying to just get through it all. I definitely don’t believe it is in Blake’s nature to bully anyone, let alone The Princess of Wales,” another commenter wrote. “I think this shows support for the ridiculous amount of nit picking & prying, all those in the line light ensure. Bravo Blake & thanks.”
