Bishop announces new leader for St. John's

May 16—FORT WAYNE — Bishop Kevin C. Rhoades announced on Facebook Wednesday there will be changes to the leadership of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Goshen.

In listing his appointments, Rhoades, the leader of the Diocese of Fort Wayne-South Bend, announced that effective June 18 the Rev. Royce Gregerson, St. John's pastor, will transfer to the pastor's role at Our Lady of Good Hope Parish in Fort Wayne.

The Rev. Brian Florin, the parochial vicar at St. John's, will be promoted to pastor of the Goshen parish.

Several other assignments were also posted and will be in effect June 18. Of note locally were:

—The Rev. Bartholomew Okorie, from parochial vicar at St. Vincent de Paul Parish, Elkhart, to pastor at St. Mary Mother of God and St. Peter Parishes in Fort Wayne.

—The Rev. Ryan Timossi, from parochial vicar at Our Lady of Good Hope Parish, Fort Wayne, to pastor at St. Patrick Parish, Ligonier.

Assignments that will become effective July 1 locally include:

—Rev. Monsignor Michael Heintz, to pastor at St. Pius X Parish in Granger.

Priests with new assignments that will become effective July 5 include:

—The Rev. Samuel Anderson, to parochial vicar at St. Vincent de Paul Parish, Elkhart.
