Miley Cyrus caused a media storm this week in her latex bikini as she twerked Robin Thicke at the MTV Video Music Awards - and it turns out dad Billy Ray Cyrus would have done the same thing!?

After remaining mum on the performance for days, Miley posted a quote on her Twitter account, quoting her dad's take on the racy performance that had some crying foul.

"'Mile, if twerkin woulda been invented.... And I had a foam finger.... I woulda done the same thang you did.' - DAD," the "We Can't Stop" singer wrote, quoting dad Billy Ray.

Following the initial outrage surrounding Miley's performance, other stars spoke out in support of the 20-year-old star.

"Listen, man, you know, it's the VMAs. What did you guys expect?" Justin Timberlake - a fellow former Disney child star - told Fresh 102.7 radio host Jim Douglas this week. "I like Miley. I like her a lot. I think, you know, she's young. She's letting everybody know that she's growing up... I just think it's the VMAs. It's not like she did it at the Grammys. Let her do her thing, you know?" Adding, "I actually thought all the bears were really cool."
