Bills cut Shawn Powell

The Buffalo Bills cut punter Shawn Powell today, reacting to a rough night where the punt team played a role in losing, 37-24, to the Clevleand Browns.

Browns punt returner Travis Benjamin set a franchise record with 179 yards, returning a punt 79 yards for a touchdown.

Powell was signed last year after going undrafted out of Florida State and replaced Brian Moorman.

Free agents at the position include former Minnesota Vikings punter Chris Kluwe and former Pittsburgh Steelers punter Drew Butler, who both just worked out for the Chicago Bears.
