Bill Gates and Melinda Gates Bought Daughter Jennifer Gates a $5 Million NYC Apartment

Jennifer Gates is set to graduate from Stanford and attend medical school in the fall, where she will move into Carmelo and La La Anthony's former apartment

Bill and Melinda Gates’s daughter Jennifer won’t be having any issues apartment hunting when she heads to New York this fall. The college senior, who is graduating from Stanford University in June, will be moving right into a $5 million Carnegie Hill condo that her parents purchased for her last December. The condo, which is a spacious 2,389 square feet, consists of three bedrooms and previously belonged to Carmelo and La La Anthony (the condo was gut-renovated in 2012, and the Anthonys began renting it out in August 2015). Other features of the unit include a living and dining area with windows overlooking Central Park to the west and a master suite with a spa-style en suite bathroom. The building itself, which was designed by Russell Groves and is owned by The Durst Organization, also features a gym, a residents’ lounge, and a children’s playroom. According to the New York Post, Jennifer has plans to attend medical school in New York in the fall.

Jennifer’s new Manhattan apartment is only the latest gift that parents Bill and Melinda have bestowed upon their eldest (they are also parents to 19-year-old son, Rory, and 15-year-old daughter Phoebe)—earlier this month, they also bought a 124-acre horse farm for Jennifer in Westchester County for $15.82 million. It should be noted that Jennifer is a top equestrian, having competed in major horse competitions like the Longines Global Champions Tour. Duncan Dayton, a real-estate developer and former race car driver, was the previous owner of the farm and estate.
