A big inning gives Clovis North its second Fresno Easter Classic title since 2018

A big sixth inning by Clovis North was the difference in the Fresno Easter Classic championship against Clovis.

The Bee’s third-ranked Broncos scored seven runs to pull away from the fifth-ranked Cougars for an 8-1 victory Wednesday night at Stan Bledsoe Field at Clovis West.

Wyatt Prieto, Brody Skinner, Jayden Hertel, Jack West, Davis Wilson, Nate Lopez and Chase Fellows scored a run in the sixth inning.

Clovis North was helped by two hit batsmen that led to two runs and a throwing error led to two runs in the sixth inning.

Clovis had tied the game in the sixth inning when Jett Lewis drove in a run.

Earlier, Prieto drove in a run in the bottom of the first inning for the Broncos. Prieto and Jayden Hertel were named the tournament’s Most Valuable Players.

Hunter Gray picked up the win for Clovis North.

West was named the Silver Slugger Award.

It was Clovis North’s second Fresno Easter Classic title since 2018. The Broncos defeated Redwood 7-5.

Outstanding pitchers of the tournament were Tyler Patrick of Clovis West and John Kasten of Clovis. Erik Rico of Redwood was also named the Silver Slugger Award.

Fowler Baseball Easter Classic

No. 22 Central Valley Christian defeated No. 13 Sanger 3-2 on a walk-off single by Dominic Alvarado in the the ninth inning to give the Cavaliers their first Fowler Easter Classic title.

CVC improved to 12-5 while the Apaches dropped to 12-4.

Fowler Softer Easter Classic

The championship game went nine innings between No. 21 Fowler and Orange Cove.

But it was the Redcats that came away with a 6-4 victory.

Alexis Alvarado drove in two runs and Stephanie Sanchez was 2 for 3 with a home run. Katelyn Shoopman and Brooklyn Mediros each drove in a run.

Jaelyn Quintana picked up the win for Fowler.
