‘Big fella’: Alligator causes trouble, has to be removed from highway twice

BRUNSWICK, N.C. (WFLA) — An alligator posed a bit of a challenge for North Carolina deputies Monday night.

According to the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office in North Carolina, the “big fella” seen in the video above had to be removed from a highway twice in the same day.

“It’s all fun and games…” said a deputy heard in the video. “Hey he’s growling now.”

The sheriff’s office said the alligator chose the base of the Cape Fear Memorial Bridge as its hangout. It liked the spot so much that deputies had to remove it from Highway 17S in the day and in the evening.

“Thankfully, the alligator was saved from traffic on the highway and those traveling the highway were saved from the gator!” the sheriff’s office wrote on Facebook.
