In one of my recent posts, I referenced the term "Business Intelligence" occurring as far back in 1865 -- 148 years ago. Sir Henry Furnese, the entrepreneur with whom this term was associated might have been very skeptical about this term being used 148 years later.
What if he were to be posed the same question today? Would this term exist 148 years from now circa 2161? I assert that the term Big Data is not only here to stay (see my discussion around Patrick Houston's post in Information Week) but also have a long life in the centuries to come.
