Known about town for having “the best burgers in Abilene,” Gloria’s Grill announced its closure this week, giving customer’s just a couple of days to get one last burger.

Reporter Ashly Ibarra spoke with restaurant owner, Gloria Hermosillo to learn about what led to the closure and how her business was so successful for more than 25 years.

4. Family & friends host candlelight service in memory of Aspen Blessing

Baird teenager, Aspen Blessing passed away after a car wreck on March 10, sending mass amounts of grief through her small community.

Reporter Mariah Williams spoke with her loved ones at a candlelight memorial. They say she was a light in a sometimes dim world.

3. Abilene OBGYN known as ‘Beatles Doctor’ makes move to Sweetwater

Not only known around town for exceptional care as an obstetrician, Dr. Charles Anderson was often referred to as ‘Abilene’s Beatles doctor,’ for his resemblance to Paul McCartney, formerly of the Beatles.

It’s a nickname he received in med school, and it’s just stuck with him. So much so that, as he told Reporter Mariah Williams, his patients will often give him Beatles memorabilia.

Well, while “Doctor McCartney” is no longer in Abilene, he’s only separated from us by I-20. He’s set up shop at Rolling Plains Medical in Sweetwater.

2. BREAKING: House fire in South Abilene

Two house fire victims reportedly made it out safe last Friday. A large fire took over the southside home, and Abilene firefighters successfully put it out after some time.

1. 2 Abilene teens killed, 1 injured in Eastland Co. wreck on wet road

In a horrible crash report from the Texas Department of Public Safety, we learned that two Abilene 18-year-olds were killed in a wreck near Ranger Thursday morning, and a 19-year-old was badly injured. We later learned that the very young couple were expecting a baby boy in May, and had just had a baby shower. Our sincerest condolences are with their families in this time.
