5. Police surround south Abilene home after ‘swatting’ call

Police were called to a South Abilene home to respond to multiple shooting deaths on Wednesday. Come to find out, the family living in the home had no idea what was going on and all was safe inside.

In an update from reporter Tobin Smith, the head of the household, Natash Gerald, told BigCountryHomepage.com an unknown suspect contacted her teenaged son through his gaming console, saying he’d been “swatted,” and this wasn’t even the first time.

“I’m a single mom and I’m tired, so I don’t need no repercussions or consequences from any of this falling back here, and this happens and I just have my teenagers in here. Anything could go wrong,” said Gerald.

4. At least one person killed during single-vehicle crash on I-20 in Taylor County

A driver was killed on impact along I-20 near Tye Thursday afternoon when they drifted out of their lane, hitting a guardrail. In an update from Texas DPS, the driver was identified as 38-year-old Mackenzie Utley from Merkel.

3. BREAKING: Suspect shoots himself during police standoff at Abilene motel

A lot of commotion at an Abilene motel last Friday stirred up tons of questions and attention. The Taylor County Sheriff’s Office said they responded to a report of a man who stole a vehicle and a rifle. After some time, the man allegedly shot himself. He was rushed to a hospital with severe injuries.

2. Eastland ISD teacher charged with Improper Relationship between Educator/Student

Eastland ISD teacher, William Culverhouse, was accused of improper relations with a student last Friday. He was formally charged this Monday.

1. VIDEO: Ellsworth AFB B-1Bs launch from Dyess AFB in retaliatory strike in Middle East

B-1B Lancers from the Ellsworth Air Force Base of South Dakota launched from Dyess AFB last Saturday following a drone strike which killed three American soldiers in Jordan late last month.

The Ellsworth Airmen came to Dyess after a B-1 crash in early January.
