What is the PACT Act?

The PACT Act is a law that Biden signed into law in August 2022.

It helps veterans receive key benefits because of a burn pit, Agent Orange or other toxic exposure they experienced when they served.

Burn pits are where chemicals, tires, plastics, medical equipment and human waste were disposed of on military bases. They were used in Iraq and Afghanistan.

The White House said more than 1 million claims have been granted to veterans since Biden signed the PACT Act into law nearly two years ago.
