WASHINGTON — President Joe Biden is trailing former President Donald Trump in seven key swing states, according to a new poll, as concerns over the economy, the Israel-Hamas conflict and other issues shroud Biden’s campaign.

The Emerson College/The Hill poll, conducted between April 25 and April 29, shows Trump leading Biden by four points in Arizona, three points in Georgia, one point in Michigan and Nevada, five points in North Carolina and two points in Pennsylvania and Wisconsin.

Between 8% and 11% of survey respondents said they were undecided in each state.

“The state of the presidential election in swing states has remained relatively consistent since Emerson and The Hill started tracking them last November,” Spencer Kimball, executive director of Emerson College Polling, noted in a news release. “The share of undecided voters has reduced and Biden gained ground in Georgia and Nevada, narrowing the gap, while Trump has maintained a slight edge on Biden in Pennsylvania and Wisconsin.”

When looking at certain groups of voters though, both candidates hold advantages over each other. For instance, Independent voters choose Trump over Biden in Arizona, Michigan, Nevada, Pennsylvania and North Carolina.

But in Georgia and Wisconsin, Independent voters favor Biden over Trump. The president also leads Trump over voters who are members of labor unions in Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin.

The poll was conducted with a sample of 1,000 registered voters in each state. The poll's credibility interval, is plus or minus three percentage points in 19 out of 20 cases in each state, according to the news release.

Other polls have found similar results. For instance, a Wall Street Journal poll conducted in March found Trump leading Biden in Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, North Carolina, Nevada and Pennsylvania.
