Biden’s ‘Jack Kennedy’ comment tops Twitter discussion during VP debate

Vice President Joe Biden’s “Jack Kennedy” jab at Republican vice presidential hopeful Paul Ryan provoked the strongest reaction from Twitter users during Thursday’s vice presidential debate.

At 9:55 p.m., 58,275 tweets per minute were sent around the time Biden made his”Now you’re Jack Kennedy?” retort to Ryan’s tax proposal - one of the vice president’s 82 interruptions during the event.

3.5 million tweets in total were sent during the debate.

Twitter also noted that Biden’s use of “malarkey” engaged its users as much as Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney’s “Big Bird” comment during the first presidential debate.
