President Biden is set to address the National Peace Officers’ Memorial Service at the Capitol Wednesday. The annual ceremony, sponsored by the National Fraternal Order of Polices (FOP), honors police officers who lost their lives in the fulfillment of duty.

Reuters reports that the number of police killed in service has been high in recent years —193 from 2021-2023, making these the deadliest three years in two decades. The news wire added that the FOP, which endorsed former President Trump in 2020, has not yet announced their support for a presidential candidate in 2024.

Biden is scheduled to speak at noon EDT.
