Beyoncé and Jay-Z Purchased a $26 Million Hamptons Home

Beyoncé and Jay-Z are officially part of the Hamptons crowd. Just a few weeks after Queen Bey's September 4 birthday, the couple has purchased a $26 million mansion, according to Trulia.

The seven-bed, seven-and-a-half bath home is located in East Hampton and spans 12,000 square feet on two acres of land. It's just as over-the-top as you would expect from the Carters, especially now that they are a family of five. There's 203 feet of waterfront property on a pond and adjacent to a 17-acre meadow preserve, so it's likely that kids Blue, Sir, and Rumi will have plenty of space to roam in the years to come. According to the listing, the current owner rotated the original house 90 degrees so that the historic triple-height studio room would look west over the pond. And that's not the only extravagant detail: There is hand-milled woodwork throughout the home, and the bathrooms feature marble from Verona, Italy. There's also patina-matched tubs, counters, and tiles carved from a single block of stone by master European craftsmen, according to Trulia. And in case Beyoncé and Jay-Z want to entertain, there's a 1,800-square-foot guest house with a living room, kitchen, two bedrooms, and one bath.

This is naturally just one of many homes in the Carter real estate profile. They currently own properties in New York City and New Orleans and are rumored to have their eyes on a mansion in Los Angeles. They've been settling into a $400,000-per-month oceanfront Malibu rental since the twins were born on June 13, so it seems a bit out of the blue to purchase in the Hamptons. But then again, the new parents likely need a couple's retreat.

As far as vacation homes go, this one is certainly fit for a queen (B).
