If I asked you to describe Reese's Pieces, you'd probably say they're the mini, M&M-like version of a Reese's Peanut Butter Cup, right? Sort of, except they're actually missing one crucial ingredient.

This important discovery, made by BuzzFeed, is straight-up weird. The candies, which as you may know come in orange, yellow, and brown colors, are only peanut butter-flavored. Chocolate is NOT an ingredient, despite sharing a name with the chocolate peanut butter cups, and the brown color, which I guess we all just assumed meant they were chocolate?!

A closer inspection of a Reese's Pieces box confirms that it is described as "peanut butter candy in a crunchy shell." No mention of chocolate. Who the heck knew?!

To be fair, pretty much every other Reese's variation – Minis, Fast Breaks, Sticks, even the Snack Mix – has chocolate in there, so the assumption does make some sense. Also, the existence of Reese's Outrageous bars, which mix Reese's Cups and Pieces, is suddenly even more exciting.
