Here are the best elementary schools in NC. Did your child’s school make the list?

Several schools around Charlotte ranked as some of the best elementary schools in North Carolina. Six area schools were identified by Niche rankings for 2023 Best Public Elementary Schools and 2023 Best Private K-12 schools in the state.

The rankings are based on multiple statistics and reviews, including state test scores, student-teacher ratio, student diversity, and the overall quality of the school district. For private school rankings, Niche also factored in SAT/ACT scores and college data.

Of the roughly 1,600 public elementary schools included, Metrolina Regional Scholars Academy ranked second on the list for public schools based on its academics, teachers and diversity. Lake Norman Charter School also made the top ten for teachers, clubs and activities.

For private schools, Providence Day School was second followed by Charlotte Country Day School, Charlotte Latin School and Gaston Day School ranked in the top 10 out of 545 schools included.
