Twas the year 2017 and all through the Hollywood Hills, stars were a-sparkling, one engagement ring at a time. This year marked a lucky one for many celebrity couples, with the likes of Sophie Turner and Emily VanCamp showing off engagement rings from their soon-to-be life partners.

The tennis star announced her engagement to David Lee with a simple ring photo while on vacation.

The Pretty Little Liars star got engaged to boyfriend Chris Long in October, and the actress shared the happy news in a very stylish way. “Went to the park for a stroll with Klee and came back with a fiancé,” she captioned a snapshot of the pair smooching, her cushion cut solitaire diamond prominent in the photo. “I get to marry my best friend and I’m over the moon. I love you @c_long.”

Sophie Turner
This Game of Thrones star just found herself a Jonas husband! Turner and Joe Jonas announced their engagement in mid-October after a whirlwind romance that was rumored to kick off sometime last fall. “I said yes,” she captioned a simple, dramatic shot of her hands clasped over Jonas’, set against a dark backdrop with her pear-shaped diamond on display. Jonas later confirmed the engagement with his own post: “She said yes.”

Nikki Bella
When Nikki Bella’s beau, fellow wrestler John Cena, got down on one knee and asked her to be his forever in April, he did so with something even flashier than a wrestling championship belt: a nearly 5-carat Tiffany & Co. diamond engagement ring. The WWE champ was stunned by the surprise proposal, and said so during an interview on the Today show the next day. “I never would have thought that he would have proposed in front of all those people,” she said. “But that’s home for us. WWE is our home.”

The only thing bigger than Tori Kelly’s voice this year was the impressive sparkler that her love, basketball player André Murillo, gifted her in September. The singer and her love kept their relationship quiet for the near-year that they dated, but in an adorable Instagram post in September, Kelly could hardly contain her giddiness. “I love you,” she captioned a black-and-white photo of the pair that featured her ring front and center.

Maren Morris
Country singer Maren Morris got engaged to her longtime boyfriend, Ryan Hurd, in July, and just like their love, her stunning ring was created with plenty of thought and love. “I know what she likes and I had somebody in Canada put it together,” Hurd told People. “The stone is from New York City, it’s from an uncut diamond, and then the rest of it’s cast just custom for her. I couldn’t just buy something. I had to make it something that fit her.”

Meryl Davis
Ice on ice on ice! Olympic figure skater Meryl Davis’ engagement ring brings new meaning to the phrase “frost yourself.” The square-cut yellow diamond ring, which she shared photos of via Instagram, featured a halo of diamonds and was custom-made to replicate a ring the pair spotted together in Santorini, Greece. “I didn’t know before that that I was particularly drawn to colored diamonds, but I fell so in love with that ring that we found in Greece,” she told TeamUSA.org about the special ring.

Michelle Branch
Love is Everywhere! Michelle Branch and the Black Keys’ Patrick Carney got engaged in the most timely fashion possible: on the eve of Branch’s 34th birthday. The singer-songwriter shared an Instagram post of her stunning bauble in July, telling fans that Carney popped the question right before she was about to blow out the candles on her birthday cake. “Patrick asked me to marry him and then I had nothing left to wish for,” she wrote.

Emily VanCamp
That’s Mrs. Bowman-to-be to you. Emily VanCamp and her beau of five years, Revenge costar Josh Bowman, got engaged this past May in what the actress calls a “beautiful” moment. “He did good,” the future bride told Entertainment Tonight during Fox’s Upfronts in early May. “It was in a forest. We were in nature on a hike kind of doing what we do. It was very us… It was great. Beautiful.”
