BESE Executive Director Shan Davis announces retirement
BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — The executive director of the Louisiana State Board of Elementary and Secondary Education announced her retirement on Monday, April 22.
Shan Davis was appointed as executive director of BESE back in December 2014, according to a news release. She had previously held a position as BESE’s education administrator.

“We thank Shan for her 15 years of service to the Board and commitment to K-12 education in Louisiana and wish her all the best in retirement and future endeavors,” said BESE in a news release.
BESE 8(g) Director Kimberly Tripeaux will serve as interim executive director as the board starts the process to fill the role permanently.
