Bertie County Deputies investigate fatal shooting on Hexlena Rd.

AULANDER, N.C. (WAVY) – Bertie County Deputies are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred late Wednesday night.

According to officials, deputies were notified of a possible shooting in the 1500 block of Hexlena Road at approximately 10:21 p.m.

Deputies arrived to the scene to find a 28-year-old male deceased from an apparent gunshot wound.

No suspect information has been released at this time.

The Bertie County Sheriff’s Office has stated that further details will be provided in the future in an attempt to “protect the integrity of the investigation.”
