A year after “Berserk” author Kentaro Miura’s passing, the editorial team at Young Animal magazine recently announced that the iconic manga will continue.

In a lengthy Twitter post, the “Berserk” team detailed conversations between Miura and one of his confidantes, fellow manga author Kouji Mori.

“Before his passing, Kentaro Miura spoke to his close friend Kouji Mori about the stories and episodes he had in mind for Berserk,” wrote the staff. “He wondered, would anyone be surprised if I drew something like this? How about a character like this? Would this storyline be interesting?”

The staff went on to discuss plans for the upcoming chapters, which would be penned by Mori.

“”From the next issue, we will first publish six chapters until the end of the “Fantasia Arc/Elf Island Chapter,” wrote the staff. “After this, we will start a new arc.”

In a concurrent statement by Mori, the mangaka revealed that he had discussed the entire “Berserk” storyline with Miura and will try his best to turn Miura’s vision into a reality.

“I have a message and promise to everyone. I will recall the details as much as possible and tell the story,” wrote Mori. “Of course, it will not be perfect. Still, I think I can almost tell the story that Miura wanted to tell.”

The latest chapter of “Berserk” will be published in Young Animal on June 24.
