Berry growing workshop coming up in Watkins Glen

WATKINS GLEN, N.Y. (WETM) — Fruit-growing experts will be sharing their knowledge on berry growing at an upcoming workshop in Watkins Glen.

Alec Moore and Rick Reisinger will be teaching the Cornell Cooperative Extension of Schuyler County’s workshop on caring for berries. Workshop topics will include variety selection and planting; establishment and training; pruning techniques and tools; insect, disease, and animal control options; nutrient management; and small homeowner orchard care. Moore and Reisinger will also be answering attendees’ questions.

Schuyler County CCE to host educational events in April

This workshop will take place from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Saturday, April 6, at Reisinger’s Summer Fruit, located at 2855 Ellison Road in Watkins Glen. Registration is required for this event and costs $25. Those who would like to attend can register using this link up until April 4.
