Bernie Sanders took no guff from anyone as he closed out the first night of the Democratic National Convention. Especially not from Donald Trump.

The reality television star and Republican presidential candidate chose to lob barbs at Democrats from the safety of his own Twitter account all night.  He called Elizabeth Warren "Pocahontas," he trotted out the new nickname "Hillary 'Rotten' Clinton," and he derided the divisive nature of the Democratic Party's Philadelphia convention.

But when Trump took on the effective end of Sanders' campaign (despite the fact that he still has not suspended it), it was the last straw. For much of Monday night, the DNC was mired in the very vocal displeasure of the Sanders camp, who jeered any mention of Clinton's name and regularly interrupted speakers.

When Sanders delivered the closing speech of the night, once again calling for unity around Clinton to ensure the defeat of Trump, the real estate magnate derided the Vermont senator's position.

To which, Bernie Sanders' Twitter account simply replied.

His tweet was extremely reminiscent of the time Hillary Clinton scorched Trump with a timeless Twitter burn.

Maybe the two Democratic opponents have begun sharing social media staffers.
