Rapper Cardi B is no stranger to making “money moves,” as evidenced by her hit song “Bodak Yellow.” Former presidential candidate Bernie Sanders appears to think that Cardi seems to “B” right on the money with her political opinions — including her thoughts on retirement.

The pregnant rapper recently sat down with GQ, giving an interview where she threw her political two cents in, on topics including Social Security and President Franklin Delano Roosevelt.

“He helped us get over the Depression, all while he was in a wheelchair,” Cardi B said in the interview. “Like, this man was suffering from polio at the time of his presidency, and yet all he was worried about was trying to make America great — make America great again for real. He’s the real ‘Make America Great Again,’ because if it wasn’t for him, old people wouldn’t even get Social Security.”

Sanders, who ran as a candidate as a Democrat in the 2016 presidential election, referenced Cardi B’s views in a tweet on Wednesday evening, saying “Cardi B is right. If we are really going to make America great we need to strengthen Social Security so that seniors are able to retire with the dignity they deserve.”

The senator followed up that tweet with a short video of himself thanking Cardi B for her thoughtful response — and it’s not his first rendezvous with rappers. According to CNN, Sanders similarly invoked rapper Jay-Z over a 2016 tweet referencing the “war on drugs,” as well as hitting the road during his campaign with Run the Jewels’ rapper Killer Mike.
