Bernalillo County proposes official renaming of area known as ‘Sandia Ranch’
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – An area in Bernalillo County commonly known as “Sandia Ranch” could get than name officially.

The county is proposing to officially rename the land located at 6915 Edith Blvd. NE. According to the county, the “Sandia Ranch” name first surfaced years ago when a tuberculous sanatorium was located there. The property is currently vacant, but there plans for parts of it to become a neighborhood parka nd a trailhead. The county says other plans for the property include building the Albuquerque Sign Language Academy.
