Bernalillo County’s latest initiative: ‘Beauty of BernCo’
BERNALILLO COUNTY, N.M. (KRQE) – Outdoor activities will soon be getting a boost in Bernalillo County, thanks to a $10,000 grant.
Bernalillo County’s new initiative called “Beauty of BernCo,” is focused on getting people to explore the outdoors. “So through photography we really want to showcase all these beautiful areas and unique special moments, all within nature, all within the county. That you can really go out and explore on your own,” said Tami Adolphe, Bernalillo County Marketing Specialist.

The program is possible from a $10,000 grant from the New Mexico Outdoor Recreation Divisio. Eligible expenses include items like sponsorships, printing brochures, maps, guidebooks as well as digital and print ads. County officials believe it will also be good for people’s mental health, since it’ll take them on tours of trails throughout the county.
The county believes that some of the best marketing can be done on platforms like Instagram, showcasing the area in pictures. “One of the main reasons is that social media, especially Instagram, it does have a lot of power to it. It’s very accessible; so this is a way where we can really share these beautiful moments within nature with the public,” said Adolphe.
According to the New Mexico Outdoor Recreation Division website, there were 41 chosen grantees, including Bernalillo County.
