Bernalillo County hosts virtual job fair

Mar. 19—Bernalillo County is holding its first virtual job fair of 2024.

Job seekers with internet access can participate using a computer, tablet or smart phone from 1 to 4 p.m. Wednesday.

The virtual format allows for direct contact between job seekers and recruiters via text, chat or video. Participants can explore job opportunities, learn about benefits and engage directly with hiring managers and department representatives, according to a Bernalillo County news release.

Representatives from the Youth Services Center, the Metropolitan Detention Center, a summer internship program, Emergency Communications, Behavioral Health, which are all hiring, will be part of the virtual job fair.

Job seekers must register in advance at bernco.gov/jobfair. The number of registrations is limited and will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Job seekers can search and apply for jobs at bernco.gov/jobboard in advance. Job candidates who attend a virtual job fair with applications that have already been submitted are positioned for priority consideration, according to the news release.

County employees enjoy leave accruals, career development opportunities, remote work options, onsite health clinic access at Alvarado Square, health care and wellness programs and one of the top pension programs in the country.

Bernalillo County employs about 2,800 people and has an annual operating budget, capital investments and other funds amounting to more than $1 billion.
