Bernalillo County Assessor to open two temporary satellite locations

BERNALILLO COUNTY, N.M. (KRQE) – The Office of the Bernalillo County Assessor is opening two temporary satellite locations for property owners to file an appeal of their assessed value, known officially as a protest.

The two locations will be open from April 1 – May 1 at the following locations:

  • Andalucia Shopping Center, 5600 Coors Blvd. NW, near Coors and Montano

  • The Shoppes, 6001 San Mateo Blvd., NE, near San Mateo and Osuna.

Both locations will be open from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday – Friday and closed from 12 to 1 p.m. for employees’ lunch breaks. The county is opening the locations to make its services more easily accessible. “Sometimes navigating the streets downtown or finding parking can be a challenge,” said Bernalillo County Deputy Assessor Karen Montano in a news release. “Now we’re offering an option to our constituents that may be closer to home.”

Notice of Value statements will be mailed to all property owners in the county on April 1.  Property owners have 30 days from that mailing to protest, or appeal, the assessed value. More information about the Assessor’s Office or the Notice of Value can be found at: www.BernCo.gov/Assessor.
