Berks attorney disbarred by state Supreme Court disciplinary board

May 1—A Berks County-based attorney has been disbarred by the disciplinary board of the Pennsylvania Supreme Court, meaning he can no longer practice law in the state.

Officials said Michael J. Cammarano Jr. on Tuesday received the order, which takes effect May 30.

Cammarano's general practice, family-owned law firm is on Lancaster Avenue in Shillington.

He had been temporarily suspended by the board on Dec. 17, 2021, awaiting further action.

He can appeal the disbarment ruling after five years, court officials said.

The court did not disclose the reasons for his suspension or disbarment, other than to say that he failed to respond to a ruling to show why he should not be disbarred.

Other details of the suspension are not public record, board officials said.
