Nearly 50 musicians from the Berklee College of Music surprised visitors at Boston's Museum of Fine Arts last weekend with an unannounced performance of "O Holy Night."

The pop-up concert, featuring soloist Mark Joseph backed by a full choir and string section, delighted unsuspecting onlookers.

A cellist began the classic Christmas song without warning in the middle of the museum's courtyard, ringing the normally chatty Saturday museum crowd to silent attention.

Of course, it's not the first time a so-called "flash mob" has taken over a public space in the name of music. In October, a zombie dance troupe performed Michael Jackson's "Thriller" inside the Denver International Airport.

Evan Chapman, who organized the museum performance, told Boston.com that it would likely be the first in a series of pop-up public concerts.
