Berkeley Springs Film Festival set to take place in March at Cacapon State Park Lodge

BERKELEY SPRINGS, W.Va. (DC News Now) — Organizers set the dates for this year’s Berkeley Springs Film Festival — the event will take place on March 22 and 23.

The festival is moving from the Star Theatre in town to Cacapon State Park. The park’s conference facilities will accommodate panel discussions, like one on safety while staging dangerous scenes, such as the one on the set of Rust starring Alec Baldwin.

Festival organizers are touting the success of a new West Virginia film tax credit to boost economic development.

“The legislature passed it 18 months ago to attract film productions in the Mountain State,” says Rick Watson. “It is increasing. It is having a positive effect.”

Berkeley Springs has become one of West Virginia’s most popular tourist destinations.
