Bentonville ends water conservation alert

BENTONVILLE, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — Bentonville city officials have lifted the water conservation alert on April 11.

City officials said that the 48-inch main water line that broke on April 2, has been successfully repaired.

“A contractor inadvertently caused damage to the water line near Highway 112 and Wallis Road, swift action was taken to address the issue,” a press release states.

The water conservation alert affected all residents and businesses. According to a release, an emergency connection with Rogers was connected to serve residents.

“We are delighted to report that the repair work on the 48-inch water line has been successfully completed, and normal water service has been restored to the City of Bentonville,” stated Bentonville Mayor Stephanie Orman. Water Utilities Director Mike Bender says, “We extend our sincere gratitude to our citizens for their patience and cooperation during this time, as well as to our neighboring cities and contractors for their invaluable support.”

Residents and businesses can go back to their normal water usage routines.
