Benny’s Pizza in Marysville damaged after carryout kitchen catches fire

MARYSVILLE, Ohio (WCMH) — Firefighters responded to a pizzeria in Marysville early Friday morning after the shop’s takeout building caught fire.

Several fire departments were called to Benny’s Pizza at 972 Columbus Ave. at about 2:50 a.m. on reports of a fire, according to the Marysville Fire Division. Firefighters found the fire in the carryout kitchen after smoke was scene coming from the roof vents.

No one was inside the building when the fire began, and the flames inside were quickly extinguished. Marysville officials investigating the scene determined the incident was an accidental fire caused by smoldering towels.
