Bengals place CB Hall on IR

The Cincinnati Bengals made three roster moves Tuesday including placing cornerback Leon Hall on injured reserve with a torn Achilles tendon.

Hall, in his seventh season with the Bengals, suffered a season-ending Achilles injury Oct. 20 against the Detroit Lions. Hall, a 2007 first-round draft choice, has 92 career games played with 86 starts, and he ranks fifth on the Bengals' all-time list in interceptions (22). He started five of this season's first seven games, missing two with a hamstring strain.

The Bengals also signed linebacker J.K. Schaffer to the roster from their practice squad. Schaffer (6-foot-0, 232) is a first-year player.

Defensive end DeQuin Evans, a first-year player, was waived Tuesday. Evans had been cleared to rejoin team activities on a roster exemption Monday, following his completion of an eight-game suspension due to violation of league policy on performance-enhancing substances.
