Benedict Cumberbatch Indicates He'd Return to 'Star Trek'

Out of the three newer Star Trek movies, Into Darkness has been easily the most maligned. People had a problem with the plot, how characters like Bones were underutilized, and that Paramount tried making the Khan reveal a twist when we all knew that Benedict Cumberbatch was Khan.

That being said, Cumberbatch himself was still good in the role, and Khan is maybe the most iconic Star Trek villain of all time, so when Yahoo Movies sat down with him for the Doctor Strange junket, we asked if he would ever return to that universe. “Why not?” he responded.

So Cumberbatch is open to returning. He wouldn’t be the first to appear sporadically in the franchise. Chris Hemsworth, who played George Kirk in the first installment, is set to return in the fourth one.
