Bench warrant list released by Bluefield WV Police Department

BLUEFIELD, WV (WVNS) — On Thursday, February 29, 2024 the Bluefield West Virginia Police Department released a new bench warrant list.

The Bluefield City Municipal Court issued the new arrest and bench warrant list, and it does not show the full warrant list. There are various reasons that the people on the list are wanted such as DUI, Prostitution, assault, possession of a controlled substance, drug paraphernalia, obstructing an officer, or other offenses aside from traffic tickets.

Bluefield WV Police Department releases bench warrant list

According to the Police Department, anyone on the list can go to the Bluefield City Police Department and turn themselves in. Once they turn themselves in they will be processed through the jail and then given a bond amount. If bond is made, the person will be released and given a future court date. For those with show cause warrants, the person can pay the fine at the Bluefield City Police Department and the warrant will be dismissed.

The defendants are believed to be innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. The people on the list have had previous convictions of crimes charged through the City of Bluefield.
