Ben & Jerry's Launches Three New Truffle Pints
Ben & Jerry's rolls out new flavors fairly regularly, and every time we can't help but drool a little. The ice cream giant didn't waste any time launching new products this year, starting with a truffle-filled line of traditional pints and new flavors of pint slices. Delish talked to (dream job alert) Ben & Jerry's Flavor Guru and Principal Food Scientist Craig Koskiniemi about what to expect from the newest pints, available in stores this month. Good news - Truffle Pints are filled with "among the largest chunks we have," and come in flavors you've definitely dreamt about.
Caramel Chocolate Cheesecake
DANG does this taste like cheesecake. Koskiniemi told us the idea for this one came from fan favorites like Strawberry Cheesecake and Cheesecake Brownie. It starts with a caramel cheesecake ice cream base, then adds graham-cracker covered cheesecake truffles and chocolate cookie swirls. It's sweet AF, but would you expect anything else from Ben & Jerry's?
Chillin' the Roast
Caffeine lovers are gonna flip over this new pint. It's made with finely ground coffee, which gives it a strong coffee taste without being bitter or tasting chalky. The base is a cold brew coffee ice cream, and chocolate cookie-covered coffee liqueur truffles and fudge swirls are mixed in. This isn't the first time Ben & Jerry's has played with adding liqueur to ice cream; Urban Bourbon and Dublin Mudslide had some booze too.
Chocolate Shake It
Warning: You'll need some serious willpower to put the spoon down for this one. It tastes EXACTLY like a chocolate malt milkshake in ice cream form and is perfectly creamy without being overly sweet. The chocolate malt milkshake-flavored ice cream is mixed with chocolate cookie-covered fudge truffles and marshmallow swirls.
