Ben Affleck and The Justice League Cast Surprise Fans and Present First Trailer at Comic-Con

That Caped Crusader sure knows how to make an entrance.

Batman v Superman star Ben Affleck surprised 6,000 fans at San Diego Comic-Con Saturday during Warner Bros' star-studded panel in the convention center's storied Hall H. At the beginning of the panel, Affleck, who is directing and starring in the studio's next Batman film and co-starring in Justice League, appeared alongside his fellow DC film directors David Ayer ( Suicide Squad, Patty Jenkins ( Wonder Woman, Zack Snyder ( Justice League Rick Famuyiwa ( The Flash, and James Wan Aquaman.

The actor/director delighted fans by indulging in a "nerdy moment," and pulling out his phone to take a picture of the massive crowd.

"I've never done this before, it’s kind of nerdy," he said smiling, before snapping the pic. "It’s just not going to happen again, it’s kind of a cool moment for me."



Of his connection to and appreciation for Batman, Affleck said he appreciates the fact that the character is a superhero, but also is "just like us."

"[Batman] is one of the most iconic characters of contemporary [times]," Affleck said of the upcoming stand-alone film. "I’m deeply honored and thrilled to get a chance to do it. Thank you for giving me the opportunity."

The Batman v Superman star, dressed in a black leather jacket, black tee and black pants,later returned to the stage and received a roaring applause when he joined his Justice League co-stars: Wonder Woman Gal Gadot, Superman Henry Cavill, The Flash Ezra Miller (wearing in a Gandalf costume), Aquaman Jason Momoa and Cyborg Ray Fisher (wearing a "Borg Life" t-shirt). The cast were on hand to help introduce the first trailer from their upcoming film.

The footage showcased Affleck as Bruce Wayne recruiting all of League's members and a humorous scene with Miller's Flash which the crowd loved.

This first Justice League film sees DC's most iconic superheroes joining forces to save the world from an enigmatic threat. Affleck and Cavill return as the Caped Crusader and Man of Steel, Gadot makes her third appearance as Wonder Woman, while Miller's The Flash and Momoa's Aquaman are fully introduced as part of the League ahead of their solo films arriving in 2018.
