Beloved Arizona gourmet pizza restaurant closing after 30 years: 'Utmost pleasure to serve'

After more than 30 years, Magpies Gourmet Pizza + Wings is closing its Fourth Avenue location in Tucson on May 18. The restaurant opened its doors in 1989 and has become a local favorite over the years.

The announcement was posted on Facebook on May 12: "It has been our utmost pleasure to serve you great local pizza and wings for over 30 years on Fourth Avenue. We cannot thank all of you enough for your support over the years."

The post also promised new and exciting plans for the coming months.

Reactions ranged from lamenting the loss of the restaurant to complaints about changes to the Fourth Avenue neighborhood generally.
