Bellingham events this month: St. Patrick’s Day parade, festivals, trivia and more

March is here, and hopefully, the spring weather isn’t too far behind. The Bellingham Herald has put together a guide of fun, local events for you to enjoy this month, rain or shine!

Here is your monthly roundup of Bellingham events, festivals, trivia nights and live music this month:

Bellingham events

The Bellingham Dockside Market will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 2 at 722 Coho Way. This market allows fishermen to sell their freshly caught fish directly from their boats. For the latest information on each week’s vendors, visit the market’s Facebook page.

Pumped Bellingham is hosting a “fix-it fair” from noon to 3 p.m. on Saturday, March 2, where you can bring in items from your home with minor repairs and have them fixed! Services will include clothing mending, small appliances, jewelry and bike repairs, shoe repair and polishing and knife sharpening. All repairs are done for free or for a donation. The fix-it fair will be at Ohio Street Workstudios at 112 Ohio St. suite 117.

The Lairmont Manor Mini Wedding Expo will run from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, March 3 with a variety of local wedding vendors available for hire. The event is free to attend and is at 405 Fieldston Rd. in Bellingham.

Open roller skate is back at The Depot from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, March 8. Those wishing to participate in the free skating must bring their own skates. Helmets and pads are also recommended. The Depot is at 1100 Railroad Ave.

Stone’s Throw Brewery is hosting an International Woman’s Day Celebration from 5 to 8 p.m. on Friday, March 8 that will feature a makers market, live music, featured artists and two local food trucks, Galley2Go and Girl n Dog cookies. Stone’s Throw Brewery is at 1009 Larrabee Ave.

Bellingham Farmers Market is back for one Saturday in March, with 100 vendors selling produce, flowers, handmade products and more. The market runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 16 at The Depot at 1100 Railroad Ave.

The Bellingham Children’s Film Festival on Saturday, March 16 and Sunday, March 17 will feature a variety of short films and animations for children, followed by a sing-along screening of Disney’s Mary Poppins on March 17. Screenings start at 10 a.m. on both days, and tickets cost $7 each and are available online or at the door. The event is at Pickford Film Center at 1318 Bay St. in Bellingham.

The Bellingham St. Patrick’s Day Parade runs from noon to 2 p.m. on Sunday, March 17 in downtown Bellingham. The parade starts at Waypoint Park, goes through downtown Bellingham and ends outside Depot Market Square. The parade is in honor of Bellingham’s Police and Fire Department, and anyone can participate in the event as long as your group is family-friendly and non-political. For those interested in participating, visit the event’s website.

Stone’s Throw Brewery is celebrating Saint Patrick’s Day on Sunday, March 17 with a special menu, live music and a limited beer release in honor of the holiday. Stone’s Throw Brewery is open from noon to 9 p.m. daily and is at 1009 Larrabee Ave.

The Spring Makers Market at The Depot will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, March 30 with a variety of local crafters, creators and artists. The market is at Depot Market Square at 1100 Railroad Ave.

Live music in Bellingham

The Aslan Brewing Co. Depot welcomes local artists throughout March. For the music lineup, check the schedule online. Aslan Brewing Co. Depot is at 1322 N. State St.

Kulshan Brewing Company’s various breweries are hosting live music throughout March. For the music lineup and locations, check the schedule online.

The Blue Room, a live music and event venue, regularly hosts live performers and performances, including jazz nights, local artists, and improv nights. Tickets are available online in advance. The Blue Room is at 202 E. Holly St.

The Shakedown, a live music venue and bar, regularly hosts live music and performers. Tickets are available online in advance. The Shakedown is at 1212 N State St.
