Cricket Tasmania has finalised its plan to upgrade Bellerive Oval, but needs a further $15 million in funding.
The plan includes a new 5,000-seat grandstand on the western side of the ground to be built in time for the 2015 World Cup.
The Federal Government has already pledged $15 million but Cricket Tasmania chairman Tony Harrison says about double that figure is needed.
"At the moment we're looking at around $30 million but obviously that's dependent on the tenders," he said.
"The way we've developed this, we think we'll have pretty good stakeholder acceptance.
"There are a lot of people around that have seen it so far and been very impressed so we hope that continues."
The plans are now before the Clarence City Council.
