Bellamy Young Is ‘So Curious’ to See How Election Results Impact Scandal

Scandal fans are eager to find out what’s in store for the cast in season 6 — including the possible new President of the United States!

Speaking with PEOPLE Now, Bellamy Young, who plays Mellie Grant, revealed that fans aren’t the only ones curious about the outcome of the show’s big election season.

“We shot five episodes,” she began to say, “We wrapped in September and will go back in January, I miss my work family like I would miss air. I love them so much.”

As for dishing out any information on her character Mellie’s storyline, Young admits that though she doesn’t have a clue what’s about to happen, the actual 2016 Presidential election may have an impact on what goes down.

“Shonda , like the rest of us, was very invested in the election and I’m so curious, because we never know what’s going to happen. I’m so curious to see how it’s impacted her and where the season will go,” the 46-year-old said.

“We shot some things that seemed outlandish,” Young continued. “But then real life would be even more so… so we couldn’t even air it. But it’s a very interesting time.”

Season 6 of Scandal premieres Thursday, Jan. 19 at 9 p.m. ET on ABC.
