Bella Hadid's Victoria's Secret Fashion Show Audition Tape Reveals Why She Got the Job

Bella Hadid’s had a big 2016. She’s nipping at her older sister Gigi’s (very high) heels, landing magazine covers, booking high-profile runway shows, and signing lucrative endorsement deals. So it really should come as no surprise that the 20-year-old is walking in the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show too.

After appearing in the brand’s PINK ad campaigns, Bella got a promotion and will appear alongside her sibling (as well as Kendall Jenner and plenty more of their peers) on the runway in Paris where the show is taping for the first time ever (it will air on CBS on Dec. 5).

But, Bella’s breakout year didn’t make her exempt from auditioning for the part just like everyone else. Even Gigi, who has more than 24 million Instagram followers had to prove her worth. And now, thanks to Victoria’s Secret’s Instagram, you can watch the very audition tape that landed her the job.

To strut for the casting directors, Bella wore a black push-up bra and full matching underwear with a bow. In an interview after the try-out, having changed into a bralette, she revealed that she had “no idea” how she thought she did. “Because I feel like I kinda blackout when I go in there. I’m just like, I’m in my underwear, this is fun,” she said. “But I’m happy with it. I hope they’re happy.” And obviously they were. The post itself read: “Congrats to @bellahadid & ALL the models who are going to PARIS for the #VSFashionShow!! Be sure to watch Dec. 5. #VSFSParis16.”

While exciting that Bella booked the gig, it certainly wasn’t as emotional as when her sister did the same last year.

Bella and Gigi will be the first sisters to walk in the show at the same time.
