Belgorod suffers shelling damage, four hospitalized

Shelling in Belgorod city and its surrounding region has injured four people and caused significant damage to buildings, regional governor Vyacheslav Gladkov claimed on Telegram on May 25.

Three of the injured individuals are currently receiving medical treatment at a city hospital. Two men are in serious condition with head injuries, while a woman is being treated for a moderate shrapnel wound to her left leg.

A fourth victim, suffering from shrapnel wounds to the face and chest, was transported by ambulance to the regional clinical hospital.

The shelling heavily damaged two apartments in separate buildings and completely destroyed two cars in Belgorod. Additionally, ten apartment buildings, two schools, and three commercial facilities sustained damage.

In the village of Dubovoye, within the Belgorod district, a direct shell hit ignited a townhouse, subsequently spreading the fire to two neighboring townhouses. One of the townhouses was completely destroyed, and the other two suffered significant damage to their roofs and upper floors. A garage cooperative building was also hit directly, according to Governor Gladkov.

Following the attack in Dubovoye, air defense systems managed to repel further attacks, though the aftermath included shattered windows in five private residences, with damaged facades and fences. The City Mall shopping center also suffered damage; shrapnel penetrated its roof and facade, harming three vehicles.

In the village of Tavrovo, shrapnel damage extended to a car, and five private homes experienced smashed windows and damaged fences.

Governor Gladkov had previously reported that the shelling in Belgorod Oblast resulted in two fatalities and ten injuries.
