Girves Brown Derby confirmed Tuesday its Belden Village restaurant has closed.

The property at 4670 Everhard Road NW near Dressler Road NW won't sit empty for long, however, as a Stark County restaurateur has announced he purchased the property.

An announcement about the closure made its way around Facebook on Tuesday morning, and one fan recounted in a post its lengthy history in Stark County.

“After decades of serving delicious meals and creating cherished memories, the beloved establishment has announced its closure," said Brook Harless, a Plain Township trustees, said in her Facebook post. "Though the doors may have closed, the legacy of the Brown Derby will live on in the hearts of all who had the pleasure of dining there.”

Girves Brown Derby's general offices in Hudson said locations in Streetsboro, Middleburg Heights and Medina will remain open.

Nick Pamboukis, owner of Melange in downtown Canton, has acquired the property, and said he plans to launch a new restaurant concept in May at the Jackson Township site.

Pamboukis said he has had family ties to Girves for years. Pamboukis said that the Girves family reached out to ask if he would be interested in the building and the property.
