Go Behind the Scenes of Stella McCartney's Star-Studded 'Stella-chella' Party

Hollywood’s A-list gathered together for the launch of Stella McCartney’s fall 2018 collection, dubbed “Stella-chella,” Tuesday night at S.I.R. Studios in Los Angeles. The party, which was a Coachella-inspired festival featuring performers like St. Vincent, featured McCartney’s latest designs, a surprise performance by her famous father Paul McCartney and even neon Time’s Up signs to support the anti-harassment movement. Models and actors joined together to listen to great music and fête the designer’s latest clothing launch.

McCartney’s famous friends –– including Katy Perry, Kate Hudson, Goldie Hawn, and new couple Dakota Johnson and Chris Martin –– joined her for the massive celebration, which paid homage to fashion, music and the local LA scene.

And since you’re probably having some serious FOMO, we have all of the insider secrets into what went down at the star-studded event!

1. Celebrity Offspring Were In Full Attendance

Hollywood’s famous kids came out in full force to support Stella McCartney. Goldie Hawn and Kate Hudson made it a mother-daughter date night dressed in head-to-toe Stella McCartney. Hudson coordinated a leather pink jacket and skirt with a feminine white blouse, while Hawn opted for an all-black look in a loose-fitting top and skirt adorned with ruffle detailing.

When Stella’s father hopped on the stage to perform two Beatles classics, Goldie Hawn naturally couldn’t contain her excitement for the iconic moment. Hudson recorded her mom’s reaction to Paul McCartney’s performance of Helter Skelter and shared the cute snap on Instagram with the caption, “Front row with…our parents #WhatANight.”

Reese Witherspoon’s daughter, Ava Phillippe, and Michael Jackson’s only daughter, Paris Jackson, were also in attendance. Ava opted for a bright pink off-the-shoulder top, which featured ’80s-inspired puff sleeves and ruffles paired with light wash jeans, while Paris rocked a striped sweater dress and oversize red fanny pack.

Paris also managed to snag a photo with the Beatles legend and shared that she “cried like a goddamn baby” when he took the stage.

i cried like a goddamn baby.

2. Christina Aguilera Dominated the Dance Floor

The 37-year-old singer showed up to the event dressed in an all-black ensemble featuring a long trench coat cinched with a satin bow, patent leather boots, a beret, tiny sunglasses and a chain necklace.

Aguilera danced the night away with McCartney on the dance floor and chatted with Katy Perry as she twirled around and snacked on the party’s food of choice: pizza.

3. The Stars Bonded on and Off the Dance Floor

Katy Perry, Kate Hudson and Goldie Hawn were spotted hanging outside the venue as they sipped on champagne.

4. Molly Sims Got Ready With Her Kids

Model Molly Sims prepped for the event with some help from her kids. She posted a photo of her 2-year-old daughter wearing one of her mom’s potential Stella McCartney outfits and a clip where she asked her 4-year-old son for opinions on nail polish colors. “I love that it’s all vegan. I love that there’s no leather. Her clothes are timeless, and they’re cool, and they’re modern, and they’re fresh,” Sims told PEOPLE at the event. “And for me, they’re, I think, the best in between a feminine and a masculine.”

5. There Was Even a Fashion Faceoff

It was no surprise that the red-carpet was full of Stella McCartney fashion moments. From Katy Perry’s dramatic red gown to Olivia Munn‘s bedazzled bra-top, all of the stars brought their fashion A-game to the event.

Victoria’s Secret model Miranda Kerr and actress Chloe Bennet unknowingly decided on the same Stella McCartney dress resulting in two distinct ways to style the dress. Pregnant Kerr embraced her baby bump in the black and gold mini dress and draped a black jacket over her shoulders and wore a pair of lucite heels. The 25-year-old actress kept it simple and put the dress on display with black pumps. Both celebrities styled their hair in up-dos, while Kerr rocked a bold red lip and Bennet opted for dewy skin and black eyeliner.

6. Dakota Johnson and Chris Martin Packed on the PDA

The pair, who have been fueling romance rumors since October, quietly made their way into the party through a private entrance holding hands, skipping the red carpet and cameras. They enjoyed a low-key date night together dancing along to the music and holding onto each other tight. The couple wasn’t afraid to show off their affection as they stayed by each other’s sides all night long.

7. Stella McCartney Supported the Time’s Up Movement

In addition to promoting her new collection, McCartney made sure she showed her support for the anti-sexual harassment movement started by A-listers including Reese Witherspoon, America Ferrera and Eva Longoria to raise money for victims of workplace sexual harassment. As of now, the Legal Defense Fund started through Time’s up has raised more than $16 million.
